2301 Woodward Ave, Detroit, MI 48201

Located at the site of the former Hughes Hatcher Suffrin men’s clothing store, which had occupied the corner of Woodward Avenue and Montcalm Street since 1911, Hockeytown Cafe opened on Oct. 14, 1999. Preceded by an Italian restaurant named Risata, Hockeytown Cafe was created by Red Wings owner Mike Ilitch as a tribute to one of the most accomplished teams in the NHL, offering great food and a fun atmosphere in the heart of The District Detroit.

With over 30 flat screen TVs throughout three floors, vintage motorcycles climbing the walls, a variety of private entertainment spaces and unique Detroit Red Wings and Tigers memorabilia, Hockeytown Cafe was voted the No. 1 sports bar in Detroit for three consecutive years by Detroit.CityVoter.com, and was voted the No. 2 sports bar in the country by ESPN2. With the ability to accommodate groups from up to 500 people in-house and up to 1,000 with our outdoor patio, Hockeytown Cafe is the perfect place to host a private party or gathering for a pre or post-game meal. Hockeytown Cafe is also home to MusicTown and the Detroit House of Comedy.
